Title Text
An Intimacy Coordinator (IC) is a trained professional dedicated to ensuring safe and consensual performances in scenes involving nudity, sexual content, or other sensitive material in film and television. ICs collaborative with directors, performers, and production to create a respectful and empowering environment, establishing consent protocols and choreographing intimate scenes to maintain authenticity while prioritizing the well-being of all participants. We are not the ‘purity police’, in fact having clear containers and anchors for the scenes allow room for MORE artistic expression and exploration within the performance. An IC ensures the nuances of the Director’s vision are captured. Just as you would not film a ‘fight scene’ without a fight coordinator – the same is true of intimate scenes. This ensures realistic portrayal and comfort for the all crew and actors. Their expertise in managing sensitive content not only enhances the quality of productions but also contributes to a culture of respect and freedom, within the industry
